Manali : A place where you fly in air by paragliding
Paragliding is not something to write about but itís something to experience. You cannot do paragliding alone, unless you are trained and have done the paragliding course to get the expertise. However, you can enjoy the paragliding as a tourist by paying for the package, and in that case you will fly with a person (called pilot) who has the expertise. You can watch this all happening in this youtube video, where one of the tourists is flying along with the pilot, and finally landed on the mother earth.
Manali would be the favorite destination of tourists for paragliding other than Uttarakhand (formerly Uttaranchal) in India. Uttarakhand is a state in the northern India, and major paragliding centers in Uttarakhand are cities like Pithoragarh, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Naukutchiyatal in Nainital etc. But since Manali is already a tourist destination (even without paragliding), it is best to experience this adventures sport in Manali. Either you can go with Manali tour packages offered by various travel agencies ( but make sure paragliding is included in it), or simply somehow reach Manali at your own convenience, and visit that place meant for paragliding. This could save you lot of money, if you directly reach Manali at your own convenience, and do not want to see anything else in Manali other than experiencing the paragliding, because tour packages would include expenses for enjoying all the famous places in Manali.
If you are an international tourist, first you need to reach New Delhi (capital city of India) which would be closest to Manali. From New Delhi, you can book another flight to Kullu served by Bhuntar Airport, which is also called Kullu Manali Airport. The air distance between New Delhi and Kullu is just 334 km. Manali is just at a distance of 50 km away from Bhuntar Airport which can be covered by hiring a taxi or a bus. You can book flights from New Delhi to Kullu (Bhuntar Airport) online on safe sites like yatra.com
Other way to reach Manali from New Delhi is by road, to cover a distance of 550km, and you can reserve a seat in a bus in that case. It is advisable to book tickets in air-conditioned Volvo coaches to be more comfortable in the journey. This would also save a lot of money, as flight will be much expensive than buses. Bus booking can also be done online on sites like yatra.com. Best time to reach Manali would be during the months starting from December end to January, during winter season, when there is a snowfall there, and also you will be able to do skiing on the snow. Hope the information would help in some way for enjoying your holidays.
