A place where a temple submerges in water twice a day

Stambheshwar Mahadev temple
There is a Lord Shiva temple located in the Kavi Kamboi village in the Indian state of Gujarat. This submerging temple is known by the name > Stambheshwar Mahadev temple. The specialty of this temple is that it submerges in the water (not completely though) twice a day as it located on the shores of the Arabain Sea. There is a specific time when it happens and so it is possible to watch this event live but you need to schedule your time properly according to the happening of the event.

As you know tides are very long period waves that originate in the ocean and progress toward the coastlines. The temple gets submerged in the water due to the high tides of the Arabain Sea progressing towards it twice a day. The public is supposed to move out of the temple when it happens. Shivling is used to worship Lord Shiva and the Shivling is located inside the temple for the public to worship. In a way, the ocean, in the form of tides, comes and touches the feet of Lord Shiva by touching the Shivling twice a day.

You can watch this youtube video to see the temple before and after the tides. To reach this temple first you need to reach the city of Vadodara in the Indian state of Gujarat. The village of Kavi Kamboi is located 40 km from Vadodara. From Kavi Kamboi you need to travel a distance of approx. 30 km to reach the Jambusar city. From Jambusar city you need to travel another 30 km to reach the temple of Stambheshwar Mahadev on the seashores of the Arabain Sea.

The submerging looks more real and deeper during Purnima or Amavasya day and so there is more rush during these days in the temple. To better know the times of waves/tides during different days visit this link. You should bring your own food as the food is not much good there.
